Turtles are passive animals that can provide valuable resources to the player, namely Raw Meat and a Turtle Shell.
There are two types of turtles in the game: salt water and fresh water. Fresh water turtles do not yield a turtle shell when killed.

Sea turtles on ocean beaches in the game and can be seen swimming in shallow water. Unlike the previous game, they do not have strict spawn locations and can be found almost all the way around the island wherever there is sandy beach. During the summer months they can be seen digging with their hind flippers on the beaches to begin laying eggs.
Fresh water turtles can be seen swimming in freshwater lakes and basking on rocks and beaches around them. They are really rare so, you have to wait a couple of minutes and in game days for them to spawn. (They do not spawn in winter).
