The 3D Printer is a physical crafting interface found in Sons of the Forest
Gameplay[]
Found in a handful of bunkers, and at least one mountain camp, 3D Printers offer a selection of unique item blueprints players may create provided they have enough Printer Resin. Although printers are initially empty, players can find resin around the map to fill the printer. Printers have a maximum displayed capacity of 1000ml of resin, however, the real capacity seems to be higher. The 3D printer in the camps do not appear to hold on to resin if filled before saving and logging out in single player.
The items created by the printer can be very useful in early game, and are usually fairly cheap to print, especially arrows and the Flask.
Currently, 3D Printers can create:
Item | Resin | Quantity | Time | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Printed Arrows | 50ml | 5 | 15 seconds | |
Printed Flask | 100ml | 1 | 15 seconds | |
Red Mask | 150ml | 1 | 15 seconds | |
Printed Grappling Hook | 100ml | 2 | 15 seconds | |
Tech Mesh | 250ml | 1 | 10 seconds | |
Printed Sled | 1000ml | 1 | 20 seconds | |
3D Printed GPS Case | 75ml | 1 | 15 seconds |
The resin color will automatically change with the selected item and there is currently no way to create an item with a custom color.
